Swakara’s April offering of 71,586 sold 100% amongst strong competition.
The offer comprised of: 56,567 Black, 11,613 White, 3,151 Spotted, and 255 Coloured C.
Twenty-nine buyers from ten countries were successful in obtaining lots. Prices were 8% easier in Krone than September, realising an overall average of DKK429, €57.60, or US$75.33. Carlo Guida Ltd, was the top buyer followed by Astropel S.A and Fureco.
The top Black lot of O Light Purple Extra, was bought by Carlo Guida Ltd for DKK1060. The Top White lot of K Flat Purple Extra was also bought by Carlo Guida Ltd, for DKK1,540, which was the highest price of the Swakara collection. This special lot was bought for a customer who likes to work with only the best!
The Black average was DKK413, White DKK571, and the Spotted DKK319, overall, -8% easier compared to September.
Generally, buying was more selective, seeing the unlabelled grades easing the most, while many of the better grades were close to firm, and some rising in price. Overall, the trend generally favoured bolder patterns, perhaps fuelled by interest for menswear, and for the Chinese market, where bright colours and bold designs are favoured.
There was once again much demand for white Swakara, however this time the unlabelled goods brought more realistic levels, while the better O’s and K Flat’s enjoyed some aggressive competition, crossing the thousand Krone threshold long before the Purple Extra’s were offered. The Black collection saw a preference for medium pattern spacing, favouring O light’s over P’s, K flat’s over M’s, and K’s over G’s.
The next Swakara collection will be available in September 2013, where we expect approximately 50,000 fresh Swakara, selling exclusively at Kopenhagen Fur. See you there!
